Mazdak Rohani

Landscape architect Mazdak Rohani was born and raised in Paris, studied Horticulture Technology and Landscape Design in the United States and then trained as a landscape architect in France.

He has worked in the United States, France and Australia and is currently based in Newcastle, England, working for Robinson Landscape Design.

Among his work are private gardens, public town centres, parks, a zoo and large housing developments. Recent projects have included a management plan for a large town and an environmental impact assessment for a former coal mining area.

“You never get bored,” he says. “No nine to five, no routine, everyday is something new. That’s what I always wanted. Landscape architecture is a means to make day-to-day life for everyone just a little bit better.

“One day a landscape architect could be a CAD technician, the following day an environmentalist, the other day a quantity surveyor. We have so many different things to do. Every day you learn something new and that’s quite enjoyable.”

"You never get bored. Everyday is something new. You wake up in the morning with a smile"
