Ashley Dunseath is the technical director for Waterman CPM, covering a range of skills from environmental planning to ecology, design and implementation.
Ashley, who previously worked in the City before becoming a landscape architect, says: “As a profession to come into, there is great opportunity. Some of the schemes we’re working on at the moment are very much about razing to the ground and starting again, which is hugely challenging but incredibly rewarding as well.
“I was lured by the bright lights of the city and earning lots of money. But I think if it’s in your heart, it’s in your heart. If you have a passion for creativity, for design, I think it’s something you should always pursue. I love my job, I love my profession, I love the career that I have. We’re co-ordinators of place-making and that’s a wonderful skill to have.”
He has more than 17 years experience as a landscape architect in public realm design and implementation, development planning and environmental assessment, and masterplanning and regeneration projects for both private and public sectors. Waterman are currently working on projects in China, Abu Dabi and across the UK.
